SUBSTANCE ABUSE POLICY
Our Commitment
We aim to support the health safety and welfare of all employees and visitors to the
workplace, ensuring a work environment in which safety and optimum performance of staff
is not adversely affected by the use of alcohol and other drugs.
Industry Recruitment Services recognises that the misuse or abuse of alcohol and other
drugs represents a significant problem to both employers and employees, most significantly
in terms of employee safety and workplace accidents, as well as human and health costs to
individuals, families and the community.
To achieve this we will:
- Support a 0.00% tolerance to the use of alcohol and other drugs in the workplace, so
that no employee or other person is put at risk by an employee acting under the
influence of alcohol or other drug.
- Require employees to partake in drug and alcohol assessment wherever required, in
support of our drug free workplace.
- Not permit any employee who tests in excess of 0.00% Blood Alcohol Concentration,
or is found to test non-negative to any drug and alcohol assessment, to attend work.
The employee shall not be permitted to return to work until a negative result has
been achieved.
- Transport any worker who has been shown to have a Blood Alcohol Concentration
that exceeds the legal standards set by the Roads and Traffic Authority to their place
of residence to ensure they arrive safely.
