Matthew McBean
National Manager

Matthew is the National Manager of our team, and at the helm of our business with regards to business development, client management, and operational management.

Matthew started his working career by completing his trade as a Boilermaker at Electricity Commission of NSW and CA & DB Martins Engineering. Matthew completed additional training by gaining various pressure welding tickets and industry qualifications, his experience including Power Generation Industry, Rolling Stock Works, Heavy Earthmoving, Manufacturing and Fabrication, various construction and shutdown maintenance projects including Mount Piper and Wallerawang Power Stations; before moving on to own and manage his own successful fabrication business specialising in steel security products here in the Newcastle but servicing clients throughout NSW. Matthew gained sales experience during a short time as a Welding Consumables and Process Development Consultant for Procus Welding Supplies.

Mathew joined the recruitment industry nine years ago, working with three multi-national recruitment companies, initially starting as an Industrial Consultant before becoming a specialist recruiter, then working his way through the ranks to become a Business Development Manager. He then launched into the opportunity to operate and grow a recruitment firm from scratch in Industry Recruitment Solutions.

Matthew is thoroughly experienced in all areas of recruitment services, with the combination of a Trade’s Qualification, Certificate in Office Administration and Financial Skills, OHS for Frontline Managers and most recently an Advanced Diploma in Business Management coupled with years of operational experience as a Recruiter and Business Developer.

Matthew has the vision and background to put Industry Recruitment Solutions in the forefront of a growing industry in the Newcastle & Hunter Valley regions before expanding to additional regions of Australia.


Eric Gordon
National Recruitment Facilitator

Eric is our National Recruitment Facilitator, responsible for overseeing all areas of recruitment, as well as being involved in the day to day development and operation of the business as a whole.

Having completed his Fitting & Turning Apprenticeship with BHP Steelworks in Newcastle; Eric then moved into the mining field working in the special products division of ANI Arnall developing drilling machines and roof support systems for the underground mining industry, spending several years educating miners in the Newcastle; Wollongong; and Lithgow regions on new technology and products.

From here, Eric spent a short stay with Waratah Engineering before working with MM Cables as a Fitter / Welder manufacturing electrical explosion proof enclosures for the underground mining industry.

After spending over fifteen years within his trade as a Fitter, Eric moved to become the owner operator of a successful Mortgage Brokerage; bringing innovative ideas into the brokerage industry.

He chose to enter the recruitment industry following a catalyst conversation with a client, discovering that the principles of service delivery between these two very different industries are in essence the same.

He brings with him the collective knowledge of industry background, coupled with his ability to match the needs of two unique clients for one purpose


Michelle Evans
Management Support

An expert in her fields, Michelle spent years accumulating marketing and accounting knowledge. Michelle owned and operated a small printing business and has worked in the newspaper industry including a managerial role in the classifieds department.

Michelle’s most recent role involved duties as Office Administrator for Hunter Serviced Offices, which included roles from the day-to-day operation through to creating and designing marketing material, and accounts.

Michelle joined Industry Recruitment Solutions during the absorption of Hunter Serviced Offices. Michelle’s new role includes accounts, administration manager, fleet management, graphic design, personal assistant to the director.

Additionally, Michelle is completing a Certificate IV in Human Resources. a whole.


Steve Nelson

Recruitment Facilitator
 
Due to rapid expansion within our organisation, Steve has recently joined Industry Recruitment Solutions as  a Recruitment Facilitator and is directly involved with the ongoing management of our database, placement of candidates, and candidate care.
 
Prior to his commencement with Industry Recruitment Solutions, Steve was employed by a major construction supplies organisation; initially as a sales representative, before working his way to the management of the organisation’s Rutherford branch.
 
In the year 2000, Steve was headhunted and took the opportunity to transfer his planning, organising, and communication skills to the recruitment industry; thriving as a recruitment consultant for a national recruitment firm, servicing the Central Coast, Hunter Valley, and Newcastle Regions.
 
Steve looks forward to delivering a high standard of professionalism and enthusiasm in placing the best possible candidates in the best possible roles.

Annemarie Fawkner

Annemarie spent 15 years in Hospitality working throughout Qld, UK & Ireland in various management positions until she came back to Maitland in late 2005. Having had enough of Hospitality she changed her career direction and diversified into the corporate world and restarted her career in to the Training arena specialising in OHS for industrial companies and Mine Sites throughout the Hunter Valley. Whilst employed with SGS Australia (STAX Training Division) Annemarie progressed to NSW Operations Supervisor, recognised as a leader in the field Annemarie was approached by large international recruitment company to specialise on their Mining & Resources desk, after 12 months within a restricted market Annemarie was approached by Industry Recruitment Solutions and TRAKSGROUP to take a leading role in development of  the Training Division of  TRAKSGROUP of companies. This division is titled TRAKS Training Solutions.

HAYLEE POTTAGE
Recruitment Facilitator

Due to rapid expansion within our organisation, Haylee has recently joined Industry Recruitment Solutions as a Recruitment Facilitator and is directly involved with the ongoing management of our database, placement of candidates, and candidate care.
 
Haylee has worked within the Human Resources/Recruitment field for the last 8 years, primarily within Industrial, Mining and Engineering organisations.

Prior to her commencement with Industry Recruitment Solutions, Haylee worked for a number of mining organisations throughout the Hunter Valley, looking after the recruitment needs within workshop and site based positions for both open cut and underground mines.

In Haylee’s previous roles she has looked after recruitment activities all around Australia and New Zealand, with vacancies ranging from management and supervisors, trades, to traineeships and apprenticeships.
 
Haylee has joined Industry Recruitment Solutions to provide excellent customer care to all candidates and clients.

Clare Wilkinson
Administration

As the Director of First Impressions, Clare is the youngest member of the team. Clare started as a trainee with Hunter Serviced Offices in February 2009 and completed her traineeship in less than five months! She is currently undertaking her Certificate IV in Human Resources.

Clare’s responsibilities include the day-to-day operation of Hunter Serviced Offices within the Industry Recruitment Solutions complex.

Clare was nominated for the 2009 Local Hunter Business Awards for the Outstanding Youth Award and in one of the finalists.
